WEEK 7 TEAM OF THE WEEK PRESENTED BY FORD

Ford is happy to bring you the MASL Team of the Week  for Week 7 of the 2021 season.

Goalkeeper – Hugo Silva, Florida Tropics

Silva won his league-leading seventh game Friday in the Tropics 6-5 win over the Dallas Sidekicks at the Allen Event Center. He picked up 12 saves in the win. Hugo is now 7-1 with a 3.98 goals-against-average and .756 save percentage this season.

Defender – Ray Lee, Kansas City Comets

The Comets met the St. Louis Ambush for the second time this season and Kansas City picked up the win by a 9-5 final score. Lee notched two of his team’s goals, raising his season total to three. His second goal of the match was an insurance goal which came with less than one second to play in the third quarter, putting Kansas City in front 7-3 at the time.

Defender – Matt Lewis, Kansas City Comets

Lewis had a three-point performance in his team’s 9-5 win at Cable Dahmer Arena. His goal opened scoring in the game with 9:54 to play in the 1st quarter. He assisted on the final goal in the opening frame by Adam James and again on Rian Marques’ marker just 26 seconds into the second quarter.

Midfielder – Victor Parreiras, Florida Tropics

Parreiras leads the Tropics in assists and he picked up two more in Friday’s win on a pair of Ian Bennett goals in the 2nd quarter. With the three points, Parreiras is second in the league in scoring with 16 points (6G-10A).

Forward – Adam James, Kansas City Comets

James found the back of the net four times Friday, including the game winner in the 3rd quarter. James leads the Comets in scoring with 11 points (9G-2A), and his nine goals are second best in the league after the game.

Forward – Ian Bennett, Florida Tropics

It was another three-point performance for Bennett, the league leader in scoring. He chipped in with two goals and an assist in Florida’s 6-5 win. For the year, Bennett has 18 points (12G-6A), and his goals total is also tops in that category.
