Week 15 Players of the Week

The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today the Week 15 Offensive and Defensive Players of the Month winners. Utica City FC’s Joey Tavernese earned the offensive win and Berna Valdovinos won the defensive honors.

Tavernese had three goals and three assists in Utica’s two-game weekend. He earned first star honors each night helping Utica beat Harrisburg Friday night and stay within one goal of the red-hot San Diego Sockers on Sunday afternoon. Tavernese has recorded 20 points this season through 19 games played.

Valdovinos made 29 saves and only allowed five goals. He helped lift the Savage to three wins during Week 15. He is currently second in the league for wins with 10. Chihuahua plays back-to-back games at home against the Ontario Fury this Friday and Saturday.
