WEEK 11 TEAM OF THE WEEK PRESENTED BY FORD

by Pete Richmire

Five days of games this past week has given us plenty of options for this honor. From those, here is your Week 11 Team of the Week presented by Ford:

Goalkeeper – Hugo Silva, Florida Tropics

The Tropics had a pair of Week 11 games at Toyota Arena to close out their 2021 regular season schedule. Two games and two wins for Hugo Silva, the league leader with 10 victories this season. He and his squad topped Ontario 6-3 and then 7-5 over Tacoma.

Defender – Maicon De Abreu, Ontario Fury

Four goals and three assists are what De Abreu accumulated in his team’s three games last week. His performance landed him in second place on the Ontario roster in scoring and tied for the team lead in goals scored.

Defender – Ray Lee, Kansas City Comets

The Comets wrapped up their regular season with a visit from the Dallas Sidekicks. Kansas City topped their guests by a 13-4 final, thanks in large part to Lee’s five-point performance. He racked up a pair of goals and three assists in the win at Cable Dahmer Arena.

Midfielder – Juan Carlos Gonzalez, Ontario Fury

Gonzalez posted the most goals on the Team of the Week roster with six last week. He scored two in Ontario’s win over San Diego, three, including the game-winner against Tacoma, and one against Florida. To go with his six goals, Gonzalez also picked up an assist to bring his week’s total to seven points.

Forward – VcMore Eligwe, Florida Tropics

Stinson was the other Fury to pick up a hat trick against the Ambush. He also had an assist in that game plus three more assists in the loss to the Comets on Sunday. He topped the Team of the Week with a seven-point week.

Forward – Vini Dantas, Tacoma

Dantas easily had the biggest goal of the week for Tacoma. He knocked in the game-winner in overtime to sink San Diego 5-4 at Toyota Arena. He also had another goal in that game plus two more in the Stars game against Ontario.
