WAVE SPOIL BALTIMORE'S CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION

Six-Time Champion Milwaukee Wave crashed Baltimore's Championship party with an exciting 4-3 win at Royal Farms Arena, Friday night.

"This was a great win and learning experience for our young team," said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "These young guys found a way to take out what is one of the most sucessful teams in the last 8 years. Big win for us."

It was a reunion of sorts for former Baltimore Blast Midfielder turned Milwaukee Wave Midfielder #24 Max Ferdinand who kicked off the scoring with the opening goal of the match 4:22 in. Other Milwaukee Wave first half goals included #26 Ian Bennett (Max Ferdinand) and #8 Robert Renaud (Ricardo Sobreira).

The Wave opened the second half with a 3rd quarter goal from #4 Midfielder Sean Totsch (Max Ferdinand) and then the well went dry, letting the defending MASL Champions back in it with 4th quarter goals from Baltimore's #11 Midfielder Tony Donatelli (Nelson Santana) and #4 Forward Andrew Hoxie (Tony Donatelli).

"We had a couple of opportunities to put the game away," said Oliviero. At the same time Max Ferdinand was playnig his first game back and started cramping up in the 4th, so we didnt have his experience on the field. Andre Hayne, who got injured in KC last week, battled all game long and just couldn't do it anymore. Losing two players like that, who bring that experience and create opportunities, hurt us a little bit but the rest of the guys really adjuted well and stepped up their game. You also can't forget the great play of goalkeeper Josh Lemos was absolutely fantasitc tonight; the whole team was!"
