MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (Jan. 26, 2019) - The six-time champion Milwaukee Wave made the Mississauga MetroStars jump through hoops Saturday night at the 'Carnival Kickoff' themed game at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

“I’m very happy with tonight’s results,” said Milwaukee Wave Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. “It’s an important win for us. It’s one to get back on track and keep pace with the other teams in the Eastern Conference.”

It was a tough match up between the Wave and MetroStars. The first half concluded with the Wave in the lead 4-2. Third quarter wrapped up with the MetroStars in the lead after three goals, 4-5. The Wave then came back with three goals of their own, closing the game out with a 7-5 victory.

“Overall everyone tonight played with great energy,” said Oliviero. “We want to take that same energy into the game next week against Baltimore.”

Goalkeeper Josh Lemos came back tonight after several games off due to injury. Lemos came back strong, only letting 5 of 20 shots by Mississauga pass.

“I’m just extremely happy we won,” said goalkeeper Josh Lemos. “I’m back and feeling good, and now I’m just looking forward to next week against Baltimore.”

The Milwaukee Wave will be back at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena next Saturday, February 2nd. The Wave will take on the defending MASL Champion Baltimore Blast at 1:05pm CST / Milwaukee time.
