WAVE DOMINATE DALLAS SATURDAY IN TEXAS; SECURE PLAYOFF SPOT

After a two game slump, the 7-time Champion Milwaukee Wave returned to the win column and were able to clinch a playoff spot with a strong performance against Dallas Saturday night at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. “We came out in the first quarter and I thought our possession was good but silly mistakes cost us and before you know it we’re down a goal,” said Milwaukee Wave Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. “After that we got our act together, raised our quality in the attacking third and slowly pulled away.”The first quarter was a battle with Dallas striking first, Milwaukee capitalizing on a power play, only to have Dallas answer back seconds later. After that is was all Milwaukee.Wave goals were scored by Alex Bradley x3, Marcio Leite, Qudus Lawal, Shawn Azcueta, Tony Walls, Mario Alvarez, Ben Ramin and scoring his first professional career goal Taylor Pill. Goalkeeper William Banahene had an outstanding game with 18 saves on the night.“Individually some of the guys needed this win tonight and collectively as a team we needed this win,” added Oliviero. “We have to start preparing physically to get our bodies feeling as good as possible, get back home and get back to the arena to do it all over again tomorrow night.”Both teams will get some rest in Texas and board a plane tomorrow morning for Milwaukee to battle again, 6pm Sunday night at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.‘Despite securing a playoff spot, we can’t relax,” exclaimed Oliviero. “To come into Dallas, get the win away from home against storied franchised like that is phenomenal but tomorrow is another day and another battle. Now it’s about securing top place in the east and getting home field advantage. We want to be playing in front of out fans when it matters most.”
