UTICA CITY SMASHES BALTIMORE’S HOME WIN STREAK

TOWSON, Maryland (Feb. 9, 2019) – Utica City defeated the Baltimore Blast 9-1 to snap Baltimore's 18-game home win streak in dominating fashion. Logan Roberts scored a first-half hat trick and Andrew Coughlin scored two goals after Baltimore pulled their goalkeeper.

Utica City finished an impressive first quarter up 2-0. Roberts tallied both goals for City, his third and fourth goals on the season.

The defender finished off his first-half hat trick midway through the second quarter after Bo Jelovac's pass across goal was turned in by Roberts to give Utica a commanding lead.

Liam Callahan and Joey Tavernese also scored for City as the first half ended with the away side in control by a score of 5-0.

A dogged Utica City defense held firm throughout the third quarter. Coughlin made a trio of spectacular saves to keep Baltimore off the board. Jake Schindler scored lone the goal for Utica in the quarter, assisted by Jelovac.

Baltimore struck early in the fourth quarter to spoil Coughlin's shutout, but Coughlin still made headlines.

After the Blast went with a sixth attacker, City's goalkeeper scored two goals into the empty Baltimore net. Jelovac capped his performance with a goal into the empty Baltimore net.

Utica City FC returns to the blue turf of the Adirondack Bank Center on Sunday, February 10 to take on the Mississauga MetroStars. Kick-off against Mississauga is at 2 p.m. Tickets are still available at www.empirestatetix.com.
