Utica, N.Y. – Utica City FC announced today that the club has re-signed defenders Ben Ramin and Jake Schindler. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Ramin returns to Utica after suiting up in 23 games with the club last season where he recorded 14 points (10-4-14) and 21 blocked shots. The defender has racked up 32 points (21-11-32) and 44 blocked shots in 52 career MASL games. “Last year he had a bit of a breakout season before unfortunately getting hurt,” Head Coach Ryan Hall said. “I’m expecting big things out of Ben this season.”

Schindler appeared in 16 games with City last season, collecting 11 points (5-6-11) and 12 blocked shots. In total, the Rochester, NY native has played in 159 career games in the MASL/MISL, scoring 27 goals and racking up 46 assists to go along with 154 blocked shots. The 5-11, 205-pound defender was named to the MASL Team of the Week in Week 2 of the 2018-19 season and was also named MASL Honorable Mention in the 2018-19 campaign.

“He’s arguably one of the most intelligent defenders in the league. I'm extremely excited to have Jake back on our squad this season,” Hall added. Along with (Darren) Toby, it solidifies our back line in front of Andrew (Coughlin).”
