UTICA CITY FC SIGNS KENARDO FORBES AND DARREN TOBY

Utica, N.Y. - Utica City FC announced today that the club has signed Kenardo Forbes and Darren Toby for the upcoming 2018-2019 season, with both players contracted to the end of City’s inaugural season. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Forbes, a 5’9’’, 165-pound Jamaican midfielder, scored 18 goals and gained 15 assists last season in the MASL (Major Arena Soccer League). Additionally, during the previous 2016-17 season, he earned 42 points, consisting of 21 goals and 21 assists; leading him to a team MVP award. 

Along with his MASL experience, Forbes, at 30 years of age, has a significant outdoor playing background both in the U.S. and abroad. This includes three caps for the Jamaican National Team along with playing for Waterhouse FC in the CONCACAF Champions League Group Stages. Furthermore, Forbes has captained the Rochester Rhinos and currently plays for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the USL (United Soccer League).

Toby, a 5’10”, 190-pound defender from Trinidad and Tobago, also has an extensive MASL background, playing at this level for the past six seasons. The 36-year old veteran scored 6 goals and gained 2 assists last season while blocking 36 shots.

In addition to his attributes in the MASL, Toby has also played in the USL, primarily with the Charlotte Eagles (where he made over 100 appearances) and with VSI Tampa Bay FC.
