Utica, N.Y. - Utica City FC announced today that the club has signed forward Božidar Jelovac for the upcoming 2018-19 season. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Jelovac recorded 26 points last season (13-13-26) in 22 games with the Syracuse Silver Knights.

The Belgrade, Serbia native has appeared in 124 career games between the MASL and MISL, totaling 56 goals and 54 assists.

The 6-3, 195-pound forward signed with the Syracuse Silver Knights in 2012 and was a team captain from 2015 to 2017. He received the Silver Knights Unsung Hero award in 2014, earned All-MISL Second team of the year in the 2013-14 season, and has made the MISL and MASL team of the week multiple times.

The veteran has also spent significant time playing outdoor soccer. This includes stints with Serbian club Fudbalski klub Smederevo 1924 and SK Dynamo České Budějovice in the Czech Republic. Most recently, Jelovac has played for the Greater Binghamton FC Thunder during the MASL off-season.

“We are very excited to have Bo join us for our opening season here in Utica,” said Ryan Hall, UCFC head coach. “He is unquestionably one of the premier players in the league and a dominant force on the field. He will be a great asset.”

Prior to joining the Silver Knights, Jelovac played at the University at Albany for four years, where he was co-captain and MVP of the team. Jelovac led the Great Danes in scoring and was named to the America East All-Conference Men’s Soccer Second Team in 2010.
