UTICA CITY FC DROPS 5TH IN A ROW WITH 4-3 LOSS TO ONTARIO

Utica, NY – After a last second loss on the road Friday, Utica City FC hosted the Ontario Fury Sunday afternoon. Ontario took a 1-0 lead in the second quarter, and in the second half led 3-0. UCFC, led by Timmy Goldman, stormed back with three goals in the second half. Ontario scored in the final minute to seal a 4-3 win. Utica City moves to (2-7) with the loss.

 In the first half both teams would trade solid offensive chances. The only goal would be scored by Ontario’s Israel Sesay with less than 10 seconds left in the first quarter. In the second, Utica City got a penalty kick and a chance to tie the game. Moises Gonzalez’s rocket hit the left post and the score remained 1-0 Fury.

The second half started out with a pair of Ontario goals. Justin Stinson and Robert Palmer found the back of the net within two minutes of each other. Ontario led 3-1.

Late in the third, Utica City ignited. Timmy Goldman got his first goal of the year unassisted, and UCFC was back in the game. Goldman would get the assist on Cristhian Segura’s tally at 11:22 of the third, and UCFC trailed just 3-2 at the end of the third quarter.

Utica City tied it early in the fourth. Nate Bourdeau electrified the crowd at 2:22 of the quarter and knotted things up at three. Joey Tavernese dished a ball off the end wall and Bourdeau was there to receive and bury the indirect pass. It would take until the final minute for the game to be decided. Ontario’s Robert Palmer got one through the Utica City keeper Brian Goldman and sealed a 4-3 win for the Fury.

UCFC returns to action on Sunday, January 30th at 8 P.M. on the road in San Diego. Their next home game is February 23rd at 6:00 P.M. against Baltimore. Tickets are available at uticacityfc.com/tickets
