UTICA CITY FC AND FLORIDA TROPICS ANNOUNCE TRADE

The Florida Tropics announced their second trade in as many days today, this time with Utica City FC. Trading places will be forwards Freddy Moojen and Andre Braithwaite.

Moojen has picked up nine points (5-4-9) in six games with the Tropics this season and finished last year with 35 points (22-13-35) in 22 games. Braithwaite recorded a goal and an assist in five games with Utica this season.

“Our lone goal this season is to win a championship and Freddy Moojen puts us one step closer to accomplishing that,” Utica City FC General Manager Tommy Tanner said. “He makes our team better up front and I’m confident that he will make an immediate impact in Utica. He is an established target in this league and he’s a player that can generate offense in all situations.”

Braithwaite, 27, is a big target forward at 6' 2" and spent three years with the Kansas City Comets before being acquired by Utica City FC via trade in the past offseason. So far this season, Braithwaite has made 5 appearances and tallied a goal and an assist. With the Comets, he had 28 goals in 46 games, including 18 goals in 16 games during the 2014-15 season.

Both Braitwaite and recently acquired Antonio Manfut will dress Saturday for the Tropics next home game.
