Utica, N.Y. - Utica City FC announced today that the club has signed forward Andre Braithwaite for the upcoming 2018-19 season. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

The 27-year old forward comes to Utica via a trade with the Kansas City Comets where he has played since the 2013-14 season. He played in 17 games last season with Kansas City, finding the back of the net on 9 occasions and coming up with 3 assists.

The 6’ 2’’, 190lb target man from Kingston, Jamaica, played for Newman University in Wichita, Kansas prior to having an immediate impact (scoring 18 goals with 7 assists) in his first season at the professional level in the MASL.

“Andre is a big strong physical target who is very effective with his back to goal and when taking players on in a one v one situation,” said Utica City FC Head Coach Ryan Hall. “We are very excited and looking forward to working with Andre this season.”

“I’m excited to sign with Utica City FC and I hope to make an immediate impact with the team,” said Braithwaite. “I’m looking forward to being a part of the Central New York community and playing in the style of Utica City FC.”
