Turlock Express with a Victory over the Sockers

Turlock, Ca. (Nov 18, 2016)---  If you weren’t watching tonight's matchup between the Turlock Express and the San Diego Sockers you definitely missed out. The Express (2-3) beat 14 time champion San Diego Sockers (3-2) for the first time ever, making it a night to remember.

The last time Turlock faced the Sockers was on their home opener October 29th, which resulted in a 12-1 loss for Express. 

Tonight the Express showed a strong powered team both defensively and offensively. 

Sockers' player Jeff Hughes opened up the night with the first goal for San Diego. Quickly to respond were Express players Jose Martinez, Adrian Gutierrez and Turlock’s top scoring leader Anibal Echeverria. They each answered with  goal that gave the Express a 2 goal lead by the end of the first quarter. 

Midfielder Martyn Arista found the net in the second quarter, growing Turlock's lead over the Sockers to 4-2 by halftime. 

The Express dominated the last quarter of the match as veterans Adrian Gutierrez and Ivan Campos both contributed a goal to finish off the match 6-4. 

Goalkeeper Christopher Welch proved to all why he belongs in the box with his best game so far. Numerous shots by San Diego's Kraig Chiles and Jeff Hughes were rejected and cleared by Welch. Defensively, the Express limited the Sockers offensive attacks resulting in the victory over San Diego.

Turlock Express remains undefeated at home and is on the road next week, November 25th as they take on Ontario Fury.
