STRYKERS STILL LOOKING FOR FIRST WIN AFTER 4-3 LOSS TO OUTLAWS

Empire Strykers hosted Mesquite Outlaws in 12‐16‐22. The Outlaws come into the match with 2‐0‐0 record and only allowing 4 goals in 2 games. Empire Strykers came into the match with a 0‐2‐1 record.    

Strykers are led by rookie Gabriel Costa with 6 points in 3 games.    

Strykers started out early with a 1‐0 lead with a goal from Adam James.  Mesquite answered back with a goal of their own on the double power play with blue cards to Johnny Topete and Franck Tayou.  Pablo DaSilva scored the equalizing goal.  Strykers jump up to a 2‐1 lead with a goal from the captain Franck Tayou to close out the first half.   

 The second half started off with a fast‐paced game that show two early goals in the first 5 minutes by Mesquite to gain the lead at 3‐2.   

 In the 4th quarter, Claysson DeLima played a ball forward that was picked by David Ortiz and scored in the open net to increase the lead to 4‐2. The Strykers fought back with a goal by Robert Palmer on a set piece to get the game to 3‐4.    

Strykers finished the game outshooting the Outlaws 25‐20 and only posting 3 goals. This drops the Strykers record to 0‐3‐1 on the season.  The Strykers will hit the road and face Dallas Sidekicks on Sunday. Mesquite Outlaws improve to 3‐0‐0 and will travel to San Diego and play the Sockers on Sunday
