STARS SCORE SIX UNANSWERED GOALS TO TOP HEAT 10-4

KENT, WA. – The Stars (3-1-0) used six consecutive goals to power past the Harrisburg Heat (1-5-0) by a 10-4 final at the accesso ShoWare Center Saturday night in the first of two games the teams will play this weekend.

The Heat came out strong on goals by Danny DiPrima and Jackson Becher to establish a 2-0 lead with 4:44 left to play in the 1st quarter. The Stars were able to pull one back in the final moments of the opening frame on Jamael Cox’s first of two goals on the night, this one with just 12 seconds left to play in the quarter.

Raphael Araujo gave the Heat a two-goal lead again on his first of the night. After that, nine of the next 10 goals went Tacoma’s way starting with markers by Chase Hanson and Mike Ramos less than two minutes apart. Those goals knotted the game at 3-3 with 8:01 to go in the half.

Araujo’s second goal of the game gave Harrisburg their final lead of the game at 4-3 only to have Nick Perera tie it at 4-4 less than a minute later. The first half came to a close with the teams even.

It was Perera who started scoring in the 3rd to score the game-winning goal for a 5-4 advantage with 8:04 left in the quarter. Philip Lund, Cox, and Ramos added goals in the 3rd to push Tacoma’s lead to 8-4 heading to the final quarter.

Fellipe Souza scored his third goal of the season for Tacoma and Eddie Na found the back of the net for the Stars to reach the 10-4 final score.

The Heat and Stars will meet for the second and final time this season tomorrow at 5:05 pm on Kid’s Day at the accesso ShoWare Center. The game will be broadcast on MASLtv Twitch TV.
