TACOMA, WA. –  The Tacoma Stars bolstered their offense today by announcing the acquisition of MASL veteran forward Vinicius ‘Vini’ Dantas via trade with the Baltimore Blast for future considerations.

Dantas, a Sao Paulo, Brazil native has been with Baltimore since the 2014-15 season and appeared in a total of 100 games, including 24 playoff matches. He averaged over 2.5 points per game with 176 goals and 80 assists to his credit.

In addition to his scoring effectiveness, Dantas will also bring Ron Newman Cup Championship experience to the Stars locker room and roster. He appeared on three consecutive MASL Champion teams when the Blast won back-to-back-to-back titles from 2015-18.

The Azusa Pacific University alum has also been strong on special teams with 31 power play goals on his stat sheet. Asked about the addition of Dantas, Stars Head Coach Nick Perera said “Vini is one of the best players in this league, and has been for some time now. Beyond his incredible personal track record in this sport, he’s someone who knows what it takes to win. Vini’s presence will have an enormous and immediate impact in our locker room and on the field. I’m beyond excited Vini will be joining the Stars family”.
