Saint Charles, MO. – The St. Louis Ambush lost their fourth consecutive game when they were shut out 7-0 at the hands of the Milwaukee Wave Friday night at The Family Arena. The loss dropped the Ambush to 4-8-1, while the Wave improved to 9-2-1.

Milwaukee drew first blood in the seventh minute of the opening period when Luan Oliveira placed a clean shot through the Ambush defensive wall on a restart. It would be the lone goal of the quarter.

The Wave went up 2-0 when Daniel Mattos sent a pass to Stuart Grable, who was parked at the goal mouth and scored with ease just 23 seconds into the second stanza. Andre Hayne made it 3-0 with his goal on a restart in the tenth minute of the second quarter. With 32.5 seconds left in the first half, Ian Bennett took a shot that was tapped in by Mario Alvarez to give Milwaukee a 4-0 lead at halftime.

The Wave increased their lead to 5-0 when Bennett and Alvarez combined again in the fifth minute of the third quarter. Bennett scored one of his own, unassisted, with a lob over Ambush goalkeeper Paulo Nascimento’s head, to make it 6-0 in the fourth minute of the fourth period. With the sixth attacker in play for St. Louis, Bennett notched his second of the game, an empty netter, in the twelfth minute of the quarter to seal the deal for the 7-0 victory.
