by Jim Fossell

St. Charles, Missouri– The St. Louis Ambush have signed rookie forward Triston Austin to a three year deal, the team announced today. Per league and team policies, no further details of the contract were disclosed.

Austin hails from Wheatfield, Colorado. He played prep soccer at Broomfield High School in Broomfield, Colorado where he won two state championships (2015 and 2017). Austin went on to play collegiate soccer at Sheridan College in Wyoming, where his team placed second in the NJCAA Regional Championship in 2018.

Although a rookie to the Major Arena Soccer League, Triston comes to the Ambush with some experience, having spent one season (2019-20) with the Colorado Rumble in the MASL’s M2 development league. Austin also received a call up to the USA Men’s National Arena Soccer Team in 2021.

Ambush co-owner and General Manager Jeff Locker said, “Triston Austin is another promising young player who has the tools to be a future star including great foot skills, the ability to finish and superb technical skills. We look forward to his continued development at the professional level.”

Austin said, “I’ve dreamed about this moment since I was two years old and was introduced to a soccer ball. I can’t wait to get out there and work with the team and the coaches. I’m eager to learn in any way I can on and off the field. This is just the beginning, I’m proud to be a part of the Ambush family!”

Ahead of their 2021-22 MASL season, the Ambush will participate in the Central Cup preseason tournament, with home games on November 12 and 13, 2021. The 2021-22 regular season kicks off at home on Black Friday, November 26, 2021, when the cross-state rival Kansas City Comets invade the Family Arena for a 5:05 p.m. CT match.
