St. Charles, Missouri (December 30, 2022) – The St. Louis Ambush welcome the I-70 rival Kansas City Comets to The Family Arena on New Year’s Eve, Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 3:05 p.m. CST.

Saturday’s match is the fourth of six meetings between the Ambush and Comets slated for the 2022-23 season. The Comets come to town with a 3-2-2 overall season record and having won two of the three previous duels with the Ambush, who will be looking to improve on their 2-3-0 season record.

Ahead of Saturday’s action, the Ambush made a roster move this week, adding local product Billy Stimac to their roster. Stimac played prep soccer at Parkway West, where he earned second-team all-district honors his Junior year. Stimac’s collegiate career was spent at Maryville University, where he served as team captain and went to the NCAA Nationals.

Stimac is seizing the opportunity to play for his hometown team with enthusiasm. He said, “It’s been great training with the guys and getting to know them. I am excited to begin this chapter of my playing career by representing my home city! I look forward to making an impact within the team and pushing the boys to better ourselves each game. Can’t wait to get started!”

Ambush co-owner, General Manager and Head Coach Jeff Locker said, “We are always excited to add promising new talent to our club. When that talent is homegrown, it’s even sweeter. We know Billy is ready to show what he can do and we’re equally ready to see how he can help our club.”

Following Saturday’s game, fans will be invited to the field for the annual New Year’s Eve Kid’s Bash, consisting of a New Year’s style countdown and balloon drop. Moving into 2023, the Ambush will host the Milwaukee Wave at The Family Arena on Saturday, January 7 at 7:05 p.m. CST. All Ambush games are available for webcast at twitch.com.

Tickets for all Ambush home games are available from the Family Arena box office and ticketmaster.com. For season or group tickets, call the Ambush office at 636-477-6363. Fans can stay current on all Ambush news by visiting the team’s official website, stlambush.com and on social media outlets.
