ST. LOUIS AMBUSH CLASH WITH MILWAUKEE SUNDAY
St. Charles, MO – The St. Louis Ambush visit the Milwaukee Wave Sunday, March 26 at 1:05 p.m. CDT at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
The match is the sixth and final meeting between the Ambush and Wave slated for the 2022-23 regular season. Milwaukee won four of the previous five games. St. Louis won the last encounter 10-4 on March 5 so they hope to repeat that performance in some form on Sunday. The game is the only one of the weekend for each team.
Milwaukee comes into the game in control of first place in the MASL Eastern Division with a 13-7-1 record. They have clinched a playoff spot. St. Louis takes the field with a 9-10-2 record and sit in sixth place in the division. They find themselves four points behind the Kansas City Comets in the standings and would need to displace the Comets for the fifth spot to earn a “play in” game for the playoffs.
Each team has won two in a row and three of their last five games. Including Sunday’s duel, the Ambush have three regular-season games remaining, all on the road. Milwaukee also has three to go, with two on the road after Sunday’s game.
Ian Bennett, last season’s MASL MVP, is Milwaukee’s biggest threat and one of the most prolific offensive threats in the league. Ambush goalkeeper Paulo Nascimento is his team’s best line of defense with the third-best save percentage (.741) in the league.
