SPORTURF MASL TEAM OF THE WEEK – WEEK TEN

KANSAS CITY (Feb. 6, 2019) –The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) and their partner, SporTurf, announced the Week Ten Team of the Week today.

Players named to the Team of the Week will be eligible for the Week Ten Player of the Week award. The Player of the Week is voted on by a combination of fans and the member teams of the MASL. Fans can vote for their choice at MASLSoccer.com

GOALKEEPER:
Josh Lemos (Milwaukee Wave) – In only his second game back from injury, Milwaukee Wave goalkeeper Josh Lemos seems fully recovered and ready to return to his status among the league’s elite goalkeepers. Against the three-time defending champion, Lemos recorded a .846 save percentage, turning away all but two of the 13 shots he faced. With his seventh win of the season, he has helped his team to sit atop the South-Central division standings.

DEFENSE: 
Magui Souza (St Louis Ambush) –Souza was a major factor in one of the most exciting games of the weekend. Saturday, his Ambush team hosted the Orlando SeaWolves as both teams fought to climb the table in their division. Souza did everything he could for the Ambush, scoring two goals, assisting on three others and tallying four blocks.
Pablo Da Silva (Tacoma Stars) – After spotting the Coyotes a couple goals early, Da Silva helped the Stars to dig out a tough road victory in El Paso. Da Silva had two goals, including the game winner, plus two blocks for his side.

MIDFIELD:
Thiago Freitas (Orlando SeaWolves) – Freitas has found himself at home with his new team since joining the SeaWolves via trade last month. Of the four goals he scored on Saturday night, the final one was the most crucial, dribbling through three Ambush players as the clock ticked under a minute left to go, Freitas found the winning score.
Moises Gonzalez (RGV Barracudas) – The Barracudas are one of the surprise teams of the season, thanks in large part to the play of Gonzalez. He leads the team in goals scored and is third in total points. On the road against El Paso on Saturday, Gonzalez netted a hat trick on the way to a big road win.

FORWARD: 
Max Ferdinand (Milwaukee Wave) – Max Ferdinand can frequently be found at the top of the MASL’s assist leaderboard. He has a way of getting deep into his opponent’s defense, then at just the right moment, finding an open teammate for a Wave goal. On Saturday afternoon, Ferdinand provided an assist on three of the team’s four goals.
