SOLES DE SONORA TO RETURN AHEAD OF 2019-2020 SEASON

KANSAS CITY (July 16, 2019) – Soles de Sonora will return to action ahead of the 2019-2020 season, following a one-year absence from the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) lineup. The announcement was made this morning by Soles CEO Rogelio Cota and MASL Commissioner Joshua Schaub.

“We’re Back,” stated Cota. “The MASL is an exciting league and I’m so happy to have Soles playing at the top level of the sport once again.”

Soles de Sonora debuted in the MASL during the 2015-2016 season. They were Ron Newman Cup Finalists in 2016 and 2017 and also reached the playoffs in 2018. The team suspended operations last season while Cota was occupied with other ventures.

“Thank you for your patience, you have always been in our thoughts. We love you! We want to tell you that!” said Cota in a social media post earlier today.

“Mr. Cota is an excellent operator and a valued member of his community. When he told us last year that Soles was going to be back soon, we knew he would be true to his word. He remained close to the MASL as our Deputy Commissioner last season and we are excited to welcome back Soles for the upcoming season,” said Commissioner Schaub.

As he turns his attention towards Soles full-time, Cota will be resigning from his Deputy Commissioner post.

The full MASL roster and alignment will be announced soon and the 2019-2020 schedule will be announced in the fall
