SIDEKICKS LOCK IN HEAD COACH

ALLEN, Texas (February 10, 2022) – The Dallas Sidekicks officially appoint Ricardinho Cavalcante as Head Coach for the 2021-2022 season. Per team policy, additional terms will not be disclosed.                                                                                         Ricardinho began his interim stint on the Sidekicks' 4-3 victory over St. Louis Ambush on December 30, 2021. Ricardinho has a 6-4 record coaching the North Texas side.

"I'm very happy, we're on the right track, but there's still lots of work to do," said Ricardinho. "I want to reach my objectives with the Sidekicks. We hope to reach the end of the season and go as far as we can. Going to the playoffs is my main objective this season–thankfully, we're on the right track. The players understand the message of bringing the Sidekicks back to the playoffs and where they belong."

Under coach Ricardinho, players like Jamie Lovegrove, Luiz Morales, and Juan Gamboa have all impacted the Sidekicks’ current form. Lovegrove and Morales are in sixth and seventh in the overall MASL point ranking with 20 and 18 points, respectively. Gamboa leads the MASL with 147 saves with a .714 save percentage.

"As an organization, Ricardinho stands for everything that this franchise stands for," said Sidekicks President Jesse Llamas. "We're very excited to have him on the team. He's been a member since 2002, and now to see him as the head coach is a very proud moment for this organization. Ricardinho is doing a great job with the team, and we hope for his continued success."

The Sidekicks return to the Credit Union of Texas Event Center on Saturday, February 12, 2022, against the Florida Tropics (10-1) at 7:00 pm CST.
