Sidekicks fall to Chihuahua Savage on Friday Night

Chihuahua, Mexico (February 23, 2024) – The Dallas Sidekicks crossed the border to face the Chihuahua Savage on Friday night for the second time this season. In the previous matchup, the Sidekicks fell 2-13.

The Savage scored first in the game when Enrique Cañez scored at the four-minute mark. Three minutes later, the Savage added to their lead when Roberto Escalante scored. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 0-2.

In the second quarter, the Savage scored first with a goal by Angel Castro. Two minutes later, the Savage scored again with a goal now by Bryan Macias. 11 seconds later, the Sidekicks ended the Savage goal streak when Jamie Lovegrove scored off the set piece. Late into the quarter, the Sidekicks started their goal streak when Kristian Quintana scored.

Despite the Savage outshooting the Sidekicks with 9 shots on goal compared to the Savage 25 shots, the Sidekicks only allowed 4 goals. At halftime, the score was 2-4.

Five minutes into the third quarter, the Sidekicks added to their score when Renato Torquato scored making the score 3-4. The possibility of a Sidekicks comeback was not enough because the Savage went on a score streak scoring three goals in the quarter. Savage goals were scored by Erick Tovar, Hugo Puentes, and Jose Gilberto Lopez. At the end of the quarter, the score was now 3-7.

The Sidekicks did not score in the fourth quarter, but the Savage increased their lead. At 3:02, Erick Tovar scored his second goal of the game. A minute later, Adriano Nunes then scored. The final score of the match was 3-9.
