SIDEKICKS COME UP SHORT IN OVERTIME IN 8-7 LOSS TO OUTLAWS

Allen, TX- The Dallas Sidekicks faced the Mesquite Outlaws on Sunday, January 15th at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center.

In the first quarter of the game, Outlaws player, Erik Macias, scored the first goal of the game in the three-minute mark of the game. 28 seconds later, Outlaws player, Luiz Morales scored a power play goal. At the nine-minute mark of the first quarter, Sidekicks player Albert Rodriguez scored with an assist by Oscar Romero. Outlaws’ player, Jorge Deleon finished the scoring sheet in the first quarter in the 10 minute mark. The score at the end of the quarter was 1-3.

The second quarter had one goal each on both teams. The first goal was scored by the Outlaws by Luiz Morales. The Sidekicks goal was scored by Albert Rodriguez. Both Morales and Rodriguez had two goals scored already in the game. Going into halftime, the score was 2-4.

The third quarter looked like the Outlaws were going to pull away with three goals scored. Outlaws player Sebastian Mendez scored 47 seconds into the third quarter. Sidekicks player Gustavo Piedra, scored the next goal. Outlaws players, Luiz Morales and Jorge Deleon scored the next goals. The third quarter looked like the Outlaws would pull away in the match with the score being 3-7.

The fourth quarter was filled with Sidekicks goals. The first goal in the quarter was scored by Cameron Brown 46 seconds in. This is Brown’s 100th goal for the Sidekicks. A minute later, Sidekicks player, Oscar Romero scored. Sidekicks players, Renato Torquato and Ahmed Zaky both scored their first professional goals. At the end of regulation, the score was tied 7-7.

49 seconds into overtime Outlaws player Sebastian Mendez scored the golden goal.
