Sharp Dressed Silver Knight Adds Style to the Squad
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – With a reputation as one of the better soccer players from Central New York and a person who routinely makes others look good, the Syracuse Silver Knights went with quality and style when they added Domenico Vitale back to their roster for the 2016-17 campaign.
“I love Domenico’s professionalism,” Knights Coach Bryan O’Quinn said. “He comes to work each day and works as hard as anyone to improve his game. I am excited to have him back again this season.”
Vitale is also a player with strong ties to the community, having starred for Cicero-North Syracuse at the high school level prior to excelling at LeMoyne College. Vitale finished his career sixth in appearances for the Dolphins, where he proved a very capable and reliable defender and midfielder. According to O’Quinn, Vitale has continued to improve since his days as a Dolphin.
“Domenico is an outstanding 1 v 1 and team defender,” O’Quinn added. “He understands offensive player tendencies very well and has done a great job over the last four years learning the game. He came into his own last year and really improved his play on the field and confidence. He is a dangerous player going forward, as well, and an excellent ball striker. He forces teams to defend him on the outside.”
Beyond his sharp skills on the field, Vitale is also a local businessman off the field. He owns and operates Giovanni’s Tuxedos in North Syracuse, providing formal wear for gentlemen throughout Central New York.
“Domenico brings stability to our team,” General Manager Tommy Tanner noted, “just like he does in our community with his business. You know every game, you’re going to get his very best.”
Vitale hopes to look sharp as the Silver Knights open their quest for a MASL championship versus the Harrisburg Heat on Friday, Nov. 18 in the War Memorial at Oncenter. For information on tickets, contact 315-303-7261 or log onto www.syracusesilverknights.com.
