SeaWolves announce Brazilian Trio

The Orlando SeaWolves bolstered their roster today with the announcements of midfielder Victor France, goalkeeper Rainer Hauss, and defender Luiz Mota (pending league approval). The Brazilian trio cap a week of three separate player announcements for the upcoming season. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed. France and Hauss played for SeaWolves General Manager Chris Kokalis last year with the Cedar Rapids Rampage.

Kokalis acquired France in a midseason trade from the St. Louis Ambush. In 19 combined games he tallied 26 points on 17 goals and nine assists. At 25, France is regarded as one of the top young players in the MASL.

Hauss, 29, paid his dues, and his perseverance paid off last season when he took over the starting goalkeeper job for the Rampage last year. Hauss was named to the MASL’s All-Rookie Team after going 6-6 with a 5.71 GAA. He also represented Brazil in the World Minifootball Federation World Cup in Tunisia last October, and will join Brazil again when they head to the Pan American Cup next month in Guatemala.

Mota, 25, scored a career high 12 points for the Rio Grande Valley Barracudas last year in his first full MASL season. Prior to that, he saw action with St. Louis and the Syracuse Silver Knights.

“These three players are going to have a big impact on our season and I’m excited to introduce them to Central Florida,” said Kokalis.
