SeaWolves Add Osvaldo Rojas

ORLANDO, FL - The Orlando SeaWolves, the area’s new professional arena soccer team, announced the signing of forward Osvaldo Rojas, pending visa approval. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreements will not be disclosed.

Rojas becomes the sixth player from the Cedar Rapids Rampage to join SeaWolves General Manager Chris Kokalis in Orlando, joining Edwin Rojas (no relation) Gordy Gurson, Victor France, Joshio Sandoval, and Rainer Hauss from last year’s playoff team.

The 28-year old forward overcame a slow start last year to finish with 16 points on eight goals and eight assists in 16 games in Cedar Rapids. He scored a career high 19 points in 2016/17 with the Chicago Mustangs. This will be his fourth MASL season. Before coming indoors, the native of Tuxpan, Mexico played for Morelia for four years, and also played with Veracruz and Potros UAEM.

“Ozzie is a big body that can hold the ball or take on people and he’s good in front of the goal,” said Kokalis. “He is also a popular teammate in the locker room and will help our team chemistry.”

Orlando will host the Brazilian National Minifootball Team on November 10 at Silver Spurs Arena. As a special bonus the team announced that the exhibition game will be added to season ticket plans at no additional charge if purchased by September 30. Fans who have already purchased season tickets will also get tickets to the November 10 game at no additional charge.

Orlando will play 12 home games and 12 road games in the league’s regular season. The MASL represents the highest level of professional arena soccer in the world.
