RON NEWMAN CUP FINALS

The Major Arena Soccer League announced today the dates and times for the 2022 Ron Newman Cup Championship Finals. The finals will be broadcast live on Twitch.

San Diego defeated the Chihuahua Savage to earn their second championship berth in as many years. With their backs against the wall after dropping game one the Sockers rallied to a 6-2 win at home Sunday night. An Extra Time game was forced and San Diego came out victorious to secure their place in the finals. As the regular season champions and number one seed San Diego will host Game Two.

The Florida Tropics also dropped game one of the semifinals series with the Comets in Kansas City. They returned home to face an elimination game won with a score of 4-2. An Extra Time game was forced and the Tropics with a four-point effort from Ricardo Diegues finished 4-2 to extend their playoff run.

The Florida Tropics will open the series at home on Monday, May 2 at the RP Funding Center on their brand-new turf. Kick-off is scheduled for 7pm EDT.

The San Diego Sockers will return home on Sunday, May 8 to the Pechanga Arena San Diego for the second game and a potential Extra Time game if the series is tied. Game time is set for 8:05pm EDT.
