REGETS RE-SIGNS WITH KANSAS CITY
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Comets have signed veteran forward Zach Reget to a two-year contract extension ahead of the 2026-27 MASL season. Per team and league policies, the terms of the deal with the 31-year-old were not disclosed.
Reget continues with the Comets, where he has spent the past three-and-a-half seasons as a centerpiece of the Comets’ foundation. The new contract keeps Reget with the Comets through the 2027-28 season.
“Zach is the type of player you want on your team,” said Comets head coach Stefan Stokic. “With his experience, he understands the game and knows what it takes to compete at a high level. He brings a lot to our group; he competes every day, and he’s a player who can make a difference when he steps on the field. He’s someone our younger players can learn from, and I believe his experience and mentality are very important to our team.”
The Kenosha, Wisconsin, native most recently earned All-MASL First Team honors after a 43-point season with 27 goals and 16 assists in 2025-26. Reget’s only better season came in 2023-24, when his 35-goal tally won him a share of the Golden Boot.
“I have created relationships bigger than soccer with my teammates here and I can’t wait to lead and compete with them for another two years,” Reget said. “Nothing beats the first quarter at Cable Dahmer Arena, where there is still smoke in the air and 5,000-plus fans ready to rumble with you, there is no better feeling than competing for God in that atmosphere, and I am excited for this next chapter.”
After graduating from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, Reget had a strong rookie season with the St. Louis Ambush in 2018-19. His 32-point debut campaign, which included 22 goals and 10 assists, earned him Rookie of the Year honors.
Reget then signed for the Florida Tropics in 2019 and, after a trade in 2023, briefly played for the Harrisburg Heat. The Comets acquired Reget from Harrisburg in 2023 and later signed him to an extension the following season.
The 2025 MASL All-Star is approaching his 300-point milestone in regular-season play, tallying 182 goals and 96 assists throughout his first eight seasons in the MASL.
“Having Zach commit to the KC Comets for the next two years is very important for us,” Stokic said. “We’re building something here, and having experienced players like Zach as part of that is important. I’m excited to have him back and to see the impact he will continue to make for this club.”
Reget returns to the blue turf of Silverstein Eye Centers Field this winter with the goal of competing for a championship. Fans can watch that journey firsthand by becoming season ticket holders at kccomets.com/seasontickets2627.
