Cedar Rapids, IA: One of the biggest pieces of the puzzle for the 2017-18 Cedar Rapids Rampage squad has been put into place as the team announced the return of goalkeeper Brett Petricek Tuesday morning.

Last year in his rookie season in the Major Arena Soccer League, Petricek appeared in all 20 games for Cedar Rapids. He finished with 12 wins good for 4th among MASL keepers. The Niagara University alum put up solid numbers in the nets finishing the season with a .689 save percentage averaging 5.95 goals against per game.

Petricek will have a tremendous amount of experience & offensive weapons in front of him. This offseason the Rampage has already announced the return of Tony Walls, Pablo Da Silva, Joshio Sandoval, Sam Guernsey, Bobby Hurwitz, Tony Aguilar, and Gordy Gurson. In addition the team has added midfielder Mario Alvarez along with forward Taylor Bond who scored 40 goals last season.

In June’s MASL International Challenge Bond led the United States with 4 goals and 2 assists to go along with Gurson’s 2 goals. And in this past Saturday night’s USA vs. Mexico match at the U.S. Cellular Center, Cedar Rapids players accounted for 8 of the United States 9 goals including 4 from Bond, 1 from Gurson, 1 from Hurwitz, and 1 from Derek Huffman.
