PAUL WRIGHT NAMED STRYKERS HEAD COACH

[Empire, 7/3/23] – The Empire Strykers proudly announce the appointment of Paul Wright as the new head coach of the club. With a remarkable track record and a wealth of experience, Wright's arrival signifies an exciting new chapter in the club's history, emphasizing its commitment to success and development both on and off the field.

Wright brings with him an extensive professional soccer career spanning 25 years, encompassing achievements in both England and the USA. In 1988, he played as a forward for the San Diego Sockers, a team that secured an impressive seven championships during Wright's tenure. Following that, Wright was drafted by the Kansas City Wizards in 1996 to the MLS, where he played four seasons.

In 1998, he became a speed consultant for the Baltimore Ravens, where he contributed his unique insights and knowledge to the realm of American football. In 2003, Wright embarked on a new venture by founding "Speed to Burn," a specialized training program designed to enhance the performance of high-level athletes in high school, college, and professional sports. His cross-disciplinary experience and commitment to helping athletes reach their full potential through targeted training methods exemplifies his dedication to the development of individuals and teams alike.

Notably, in 2021, Wright took another step towards making a difference by establishing the non-profit organization "Matters Athletic." With a focus on serving underprivileged youth, the mission of Matters Athletic is to empower young students and athletes, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that 100% of its students will have the opportunity to attend college or trade school and participate in sports. This philanthropic initiative underscores Wright's values and his commitment to making a positive impact in society and his community.
