OUTLAWS FALL AT HOME OPENER TO COMETS

MESQUITE, Texas (December 16, 2023) – Texas Outlaws lose 7-9 during Home Opener against the Kansas City Comets in Mesquite, Texas. The Outlaws are now 1-2-1 and the Comet are 4-0-0.

The first quarter scoring started with an Outlaws goal from Vini Dantas in the first minute. In the 6th minute, Andy Reyes for the Outlaws received a blue card for holding. During the powerplay, Zach Reget for the Comets, tying the game and staying tied into the second quarter. The second quarter scoring started in the 3rd minute, with a goal for the Comets, scored by Michael Lenis. The Outlaws counted a goal in the 6th minute, scored by Luiz Morales, tying the game at 2-2. The Comets scored their third goal in the 7th minute, scored by Leonardo Acosta. In the 10th minute, Ignacio Flores for the Comets received a blue card for a reckless tackle. Jorge DeLeon scored once back at even strength, tying it up once again for the Outlaws, now 3-3 going into the second half.

In the third quarter, Ignacio Flores put the Comets up again in the 4th minute. The Comets scored again in the 7th minute, scored by Eduardo “Lalo” Alonso Alejo. Another goal was scored by the Comets in the 8th minute, scored by John Sosa, putting the Comets up by 3. Going into the 10th minute, a fourth goal was scored by Leonardo Acosta for the Comets. In the 12th minute, Henery Ramirez for the Comets was issued a blue card for kicking, putting the Outlaws on the power play. A power play goal was scored by Luiz Morales for the Outlaws, his second of the night. The third quarter ending with the Outlaws down 4-7. In the first 11 seconds of the 4th quarter, Brenden Lee was issued a blue card for the Outlaws for holding. Once back at even strength, Sebastian Mendez scored for the Outlaws into the 3rd minute. Henry Ramirez scored for the Comets in the 6th minute, score now 8-5 Comets. Luiz Morales got his hattrick for the Outlaws in the 7th minute. Alejo quickly countered less than a minute later putting the Comets back up by 3. In the 10th minute, Zach Reget was issued a blue card for tripping, putting the Outlaws on the power play. In the 12th minute, at even strength and with an extra attacker, Sebastian Mendez got his second goal of the night. Outlaws losing 7-9. The Comets outshot the Outlaws 25-29.

Texas Outlaws will be taking on the Kansas City Comets at Cable Dahmer on Sunday December 17th. Kick off will be at 5:05 pm C5.
