ORLANDO SEAWOLVES SIGN STEPHEN MCGINN

MIDFIELDER/DEFENDER JOINS ORLANDO FROM OPEN TRYOUTS

ORLANDO, Florida (August 13, 2019) – The Orlando SeaWolves continue to prepare for their upcoming season by signing midfielder Stephen McGinn, pending visa approval, from the team’s open tryouts. Per team and league policies, no further details were disclosed.

The 6’0” midfielder/defender joins the SeaWolves from the Central Florida Panthers, an NPSL team based out of Winter Park, Florida, where he was the captain of the team. Prior to that, McGinn played for the NPSL’s Storm FC in Ft Lauderdale and Kraze United of Orlando.

McGinn was born in Edinburgh, Scotland where he played at the youth academies of Hibernian FC & Dunfermline FC before moving to the US at 18 to play for Young Harris College, a Division II in Georgia. McGinn transferred in his sophomore season to Webber International University in Florida, where he was named All-Conference in The Sun twice, as well as being named as an NAIA All-American in 2014.

"Stephen is a physical young player who we discovered locally at our Orlando tryout,” SeaWolves General Manager Chris Kokalis said. “He’s got a great first touch and has great speed. He will be a great addition to our training camp roster.”
