ORLANDO, Florida (June 18, 2019) – The Orlando SeaWolves continue to add attacking pieces to the roster, this time signing the skillful Brazilian attacker, Maycon, to a five-year contract. Per team and league policies, no further details were disclosed.
Maycon joins Orlando having played the last three seasons just down the road in Lakeland with the Florida Tropics. In his MASL career, he has six goals and six assists in 33 games played. Prior to his American indoor career, the 25-year-old played outdoor in the Santos FC academy in Brazil. He also played futsal in his native country with clubs Gremetal and Jacarei.
“For me, it’s a new challenge,” Maycon said, “It’s a new goal for me, making the playoffs. That’s mine and the team’s goal, so I’m glad to be here.”
"Maycon is a player that given the right opportunity can really excel in the league,” SeaWolves General Manager Chris Kokalis said. “ He's got great speed, is solid on the ball and is a great locker room guy who strives to go above and beyond what's expected of him each and every time he touches the pitch."
