Keeper set to join SeaWolves following banner college career
ORLANDO, Florida (June 23, 2019) – The Orlando SeaWolves continue to build the goalkeeping core for the 2019-2020 season by signing promising young goalkeeper Ian Chacon. Per team and league policies, no further details were disclosed.
The 6’3” keeper joins the SeaWolves fresh out of Marian University, a small NCAA Division III school in Wisconsin. In his four years with the Sabres Chacon started 62 games, including 17 his freshman year, posting a 1.52 goals against average, with 368 saves and a .790 save percentage and 13 shutouts.
"Ian had a tremendous college career,” SeaWolves General Manager Chris Kokalis said. “He’s shown his shot stopping capabilities and his ability to lead from the back line. We’re excited to have him join our squad."
The second round of open tryouts for the SeaWovles 2019-20 season will take place July 27th & 28th at City Soccer Complex, located at 1016 Clare Avenue in West Palm Beach, FL. Check-In will begin at 2 pm, with the workout going from 3 pm to 5 pm on the 27th and continuing on the 28th from 10 am to Noon. Participants should be available for both days.
