KEEPER JOINS ORLANDO AFTER ROOKIE CAMPAIGN WITH DALLAS

ORLANDO, Florida (June 3, 2019) – The Orlando SeaWolves continue to shape their 2019-2020 roster by announcing the signing of goalkeeper Fernando Cortes Jr to a two-year deal. Per team and league policies, no further details were disclosed.

Cortes joins the SeaWolves after spending his rookie MASL season with the Dallas Sidekicks. The keeper, out of Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida, made 46 saves in only five games played. He made his MASL debut against the El Paso Coyotes, winning the game 10-9 in overtime. He also notched an assist in his game against the Tacoma Stars, which they also won 5-4 in overtime.

“Fernando is a young keeper with a bright future in the MASL,” SeaWolves General Manager Chris Kokalis said. “He has great shot stopping abilities and is good with his feet. Both attributes make for a great keeper in the league.”
