Veteran defender returns to bolster SeaWolves backline

ORLANDO, Florida (May 28, 2019) – The Orlando SeaWolves have brought back one of their defensive anchors for the long term, signing Edwin Rojas to a five-year deal. Per team and league policies, no further details were disclosed.

Returning to the SeaWolves after last season, Rojas played in a career-high number of games while also tying his career high in goals, with five. The defender now re-joins the SeaWolves for his fifth season in MASL, having spent his first two seasons with the Chicago Mustangs, before joining the Cedar Rapids Rampage in 2017. Prior to MASL, Rojas played in his native Mexico, suiting up for Cruz Azul, Pachuca, Leon, Tulancingo, Tampico, Murciélagos and Toros Neza.

"Having guys like Edwin on the squad is important as we look to make progress as a club,” SeaWolves General Manager Chris Kokalis said. “He's a leader on the field and in the locker room and I look forward to him continuing to make contributions as one of the anchors of our defense."
