ORLANDO SEAWOLVES RE-SIGN DEFENDER AND CAPTAIN JOSHIO SANDOVAL

Defender returns to lead the backline

ORLANDO, Florida (May 28, 2019) – The Orlando SeaWolves continue to build for the upcoming MASL season by bringing back their defensive anchor Joshio “Yoshi” Sandoval for the 2019-2020 season. Per team and league policies, no further details were disclosed.

After wearing the captain's armband for the SeaWolves last season, Sandoval set career-highs in assists and points, finishing last season with 13 assists and 15 points. Yoshi also hit a career milestone, having appeared in 100 MASL games thus far in his career. The defender now re-joins the SeaWolves for his sixth season in MASL, having spent his first three professional seasons with the Chicago Mustangs, winning a Ron Newman Cup title his rookie year, before joining the Cedar Rapids Rampage in 2016.

“Yoshi is the staple of our defense,” SeaWolves General Manager Chris Kokalis said. “He continues to grow as a professional and a leader on and off the field. If we plan on building off of last season, having a player like Yoshi on the team is vitally important to our success.”
