ONTARIO FURY TRIPLE UP UTICA CITY FC 15-5 TUESDAY NIGHT

Ontario, CA - Utica City FC wrapped up their California road trip with a late night meeting in Ontario. The Fury exploded in the second half and won 15-5. Ontario led 4-1 at the start of the second quarter, but cut the lead to one early in the third. Ontario scored five straight goals and gained a lead they would hold until the end. UCFC got three goals and an assist from players added to the roster in the last two weeks.

Utica City got off to a slow start. Ontario’s Jesus Pacheco and Frank Tayou scored in the first 8 minutes of the game to put the Fury up 2-0. Utica City would get an answer at 9:07 of the first when Nate Bourdeau darted up the right boards and beat Ontario keeper Chris Toth over his right shoulder to cut the lead in half.

Ontario answered with two in a row, one from Robert Palmer and the next from Tayou for his second of the night. Utica City would answer off of a set piece. Bo Jelovac tapped the ball back to Hewerton who buried a low rocket and made it 4-2. Ontario added to their league with Tayou’s third of the first half at 3:03.

Before the first half ended, Stefan St. Louis got his first goal for Utica City. The veteran forward got a takeaway and scored on a counterattack to make it 5-3. UCFC carried a spark of momentum into the break.

Utica City made it a ballgame early in the second half. Nate Bourdeau dished a ball off the wall to Hewerton who ripped it past Toth. Ontario led just 5-4. Ontario would strike two times within a 19 seconds of eachother. Jorge Deleon got his first of the night at 5:20 of the 3rd, and Palmer got his second at 5:39 to make it 7-4 in favor of Ontario. They added another thanks to Juan Topete who had help from Tiago Goncalves at 7:01. Utica City would score an own goal and give Ontario a 9-4 lead before the quarter would close.

Nate Bourdeau scored for Utica City on a bomb from the midfield line. His one touch got over Chris Toth’s head. Ontario answered less than a minute later on a counterattack from Jorge Deleon. Tayou scored his fourth as time expired and UCFC trailed by seven at the end of the third quarter.

Ontario buried five more in the fourth. Deleon, Tayou, Topete, Travis Pittman and Tayou all scored and sealed a 15-5 win for the Fury.

Utica City falls to 2-9 with the loss, and will face the Baltimore Blast on the road on Saturday.
