ONTARIO FURY HOLD OFF HARD-CHARGING TURLOCK SQUAD

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, held off a fourth quarter rally by the Turlock Express as Ontario won the Pacific Division battle 7-5 Friday at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

Juan Carlos Gonzalez scored three goals, including one into the vacated net with 28 seconds remaining, as Ontario (2-2) had allowed Turlock (2-4) back into the game in the fourth quarter. Turlock scored four times in the final period, closing the score to 6-5.

The Fury built a 6-1 lead after the third quarter, but the Express charged back. Martyn Arista scored twice in the final frame, but with the extra attacker on the field, the Fury’s Israel Sesay stole the ball, got it to Andy Reyes, who found Gonzalez for the hat trick goal.

Reyes had a goal and two assists in the win, as the Fury had five different players score a goal. Turlock’s Chris Welch was the busier of the two goaltenders, as he registered 12 saves, as Ontario had several chances to widen its lead throughout.

Ontario heads back on the road to the Tacoma Stars on Dec. 10 at ShoWare Center in Kent, Wash. The Fury will return home Dec. 17 to take on the El Paso Coyotes at 6 p.m.
