MKE WAVE CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR WITH WIN OVER ARCH-RIVAL CHICAGO MUSTANGS

The Milwaukee Wave defeated the arch-rival, the Chicago Mustangs in their traditional New Year’s Eve game at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. Final Score, Milwaukee Wave 9, Chicago Mustangs 4.

“I’m very happy with the energy, intelligence and effort that our team put forth for our fans tonight,” said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. “Now it’s about giving that same effort week in and week out for the rest of the season.”

Milwaukee Wave Midfielder, Number 26, Ian Bennett led the way in scoring with two hat tricks, good for a total of 6 goals while defender Number 3, Chad Vandegriffe scored a hat trick of his own and had a number of great blocks.

“Seeing our defenders like Chad Vandegriffe, Daniel Chamale and Stuart Grable contribute to the attack makes me very happy too,” said Oliviero. “We accomplished everything we wanted to tonight.”

The Milwaukee Wave set their sights to the St. Louis Ambush who come to UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena next Saturday, January 7th at 1:05pm.

“We can’t get complacent,” said Oliviero. “We’re a young team and the guys will be feeling good about this win all week but we have to remember that we are only a .500 team. We are behind and still need to do some digging but we’ll be prepared St. Louis."
