Milwaukee Wave Hosts Baltimore Blast in classic Eastern Conference Matchup

by Jeff Husted

The Milwaukee Wave and Baltimore Blast are two of the most storied franchises in the Major Arena Soccer League. The Wave seek their seventh championship and will need to get through the Blast to compete for that chance.

The Wave come into this match after a tough battle for the Central Division title against the Kansas City Comets. Offensively, forward Andre Hayne leads the team with four goals in the opening round series. Ian Bennett (3G, 1A), Chad Vandegriffe (2G, 2A) and Luan Oliveira (2G, 2A) also head into the match with four points.

In the regular season, these two teams only met twice. Baltimore was held to only two goals in each game as the Wave claimed victory in both matches.

Milwaukee has only lost twice at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena all season, while the Blast were only able to put up a 7-5 record on the road this season. However, the Blast come into today's match with confidence from their Games Two & Three wins in Utica to clinch their opening round series win.

The match kicks off today at 2:00 p.m. CT and can be seen live on Eleven Sports and online at Eleven Sports NEXT.
