MILWAUKEE WAVE RINGS IN THE NEW YEAR UNDEFEATED!

MILWAUKEE, WI., Dec 31, 2108 – The Six-Time Champion Milwaukee Wave will enter the new year as the only undefeated team in the Major Arena Soccer League after defeating division foes, the St. Louis Ambush Monday afternoon at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

“The team showed great maturity and patience tonight against St. Louis,” said Milwaukee Wave Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. “I thought it was a great night for everyone involved. The guys continue to work together and our fans were phenomenal but you know, to finish 2018 undefeated- we’re extremely happy but we don’t want it to end. We want to keep it going.”

The match was low scoring throughout the start of the game, halftime score being 2-1 with the Wave in the lead. The Wave then ended the third quarter with a hefty 7-1 lead over the Ambush, to finish the game with a score of 11-5. “We never know how teams are going to play us, and St. Louis kept us scoring low in the first half,” said Oliviero. “I really liked how the players handled themselves through the game and turned it up the second half.”

One of the lead players of the Wave win over the Ambush was forward #9 Robert Renaud, who finished the game with 3 goals on the night. Renaud was also the face of the Milwaukee Wave bobble head given to fans by Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital and Professional Construction Inc.

Issac Pereyra, Drew Ruggles, and Max Ferdinand were among other Wave players assisting their leading scorer throughout the game.
