MIKE DA-SILVA AGREES TO A TWO-YEAR CONTRACT WITH COMETS

KANSAS CITY (September 10, 2021) – The Kansas City Comets announced today that the club has signed free agent forward Mike Da-Silva to a two-year contract. Per team and league policies, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Da-Silva was on loan to the Comets last season from the Baltimore Blast, who suspended operations for the 2021 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 12 games last season for the Comets (7 regular season plus 5 playoff games), Da-Silva scored 9 goals with 5 assists, which was his best season since starting his professional indoor career in 2019.

“I am very delighted to be back with the Comets for another two years,” said Da-Silva. “We’ve got some unfinished business to take care of from last season.”

Da-Silva was a two-time High School All-American and played collegiately for Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI, for one year before deciding to turn pro at age 21, and signing with the Milwaukee Wave.

At 6’ 2” Da-Silva, a Lago, Nigeria native, was a big target on Coach Gibson’s frontline last season. “Mike was a very big part of the team’s success last season,” said Comets Head Coach, Leo Gibson. “We are glad that he will be a Comet for the next two years as we look to build upon last year’s success.”

The Kansas City Comets play at Cable Dahmer Arena. Season tickets are on sale now. For the latest news and information, visit KCComets.com and follow the team on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
