MASL WEEK FIVE PREVIEW

KANSAS CITY (Nov 27, 2016) – The Holiday season is officially upon us and the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) presents the first gifts of the season with eight games between today and Sunday. All games can be found on the league’s new YouTube channel, MASLtv.

Harrisburg Heat vs Florida Tropics – Friday, November 25th 7:35 p.m. ET
Harrisburg (1-2) is looking for a repeat of excitement and WINS from their last home game when they face off against the Florida Tropics at Freedmont Mortgage Field at the PA Farm Show Complex Large Arena.

Ontario Fury vs Turlock Express – Friday, November 25th 10:05 p.m. ET
The Turlock Express comes into Ontario off a big upset last week over the San Diego Sockers. The Express defense has led the way for the team within the last few weeks behind goalkeeper Christopher Welch and defender Jose Martinez. Ontario comes into the game after a week off following a loss to the Tacoma Stars in Kent, Wash. The Fury (1-2) have played the fewest games in the Pacific Division, and open the game in last place, percentage points behind the Express (2-3).

Syracuse Silver Knights vs Florida Tropics – Saturday, November 26th 7:00 p.m. ET
This is the second game in as many nights for the Florida Tropics. They head to Syracuse hoping to improve their offensive showing. Other than a scoring outburst in the final quarter of their opening game, the team has struggled to find the net. Syracuse will be hoping to ride the momentum that saw them erase a 2-0 halftime deficit and win their opening game 5-2.

St. Louis Ambush vs Chicago Mustangs – Saturday, November 26th 8:05 p.m. ET
This is the first game of a weekend home-and-home series between these two Central Division rivals. The Ambush hope to turn the tables this weekend, seeking their first win of the season. On the flip side, the Chicago Mustangs sit atop the division at 2-0.

Cedar Rapids Rampage vs Milwaukee Wave – Saturday November 26th 8:05 p.m. ET
This rematch of last week’s exciting overtime battle features two teams trying to climb the table in the Central Division. Cedar Rapids won the first matchup between these two teams when former Wave defender Pablo da Silva scored the game tying goal midway through the 4th quarter then Patrick Kelly scored the game winning goal in overtime. Milwaukee came back from that loss with a big win against the Kansas City Comets the next night. Forward Ian Bennett had his best game of the season against the Comets and hopes to continue that streak against the Rampage.

El Paso Coyotes vs San Diego Sockers – Saturday, November 26th 9:05 p.m. ET
After starting 2-0 at home, the Sockers have gone 1-2 on the road, but are looking to get back on track before a two game home stand. The Coyotes are still seeking their first win of the season, but had their highest offensive output last week in Sonora, scoring ten goals in that game. The Sockers have only managed a little over 4 goals on the road this season.

Chicago Mustangs vs St. Louis Ambush – Sunday, November 27th 4:05 p.m. ET
This weekend series moves to Chicago as the teams face off for the second time in less than 24 hours.

Atletico Baja vs Soles de Sonora – Sunday, November 27th 8:05 p.m. ET
The two Mexican members of the MASL face off for the first time this season. These two teams sit at #1 and #2 in the Southwest Division. Each team is undefeated at home and winless on the road. Sonora boasts an offense that scores 13.25 goals per game. Baja is scoring nearly 9 goals per game but hopes to increase that average against a team that has given up over 10 goals per game.
