MASL TO LAUNCH PLAYERS COUNCIL

KANSAS CITY (June 8, 2018) – The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today the creation of the MASL Players Council ahead of the 2018-2019 season. This council will be comprised of high-profile players from across the league and will give players direct access to the Office of the Commissioner.

“The Players Council was an idea brought to the league last season as a way to bridge the gap between the players and the Office of the Commissioner,” said MASL Commissioner Joshua Schaub. “The intent is to allow players to have input on league issues and informally have input on the future of the game.”

The newly formed Players Council will be selected prior to the start of the 2018-2019 campaign, with each division being represented. They will meet regularly throughout the season, receiving information direct from the Office of the Commissioner and be able to discuss issues that are important to them and the game of arena soccer. The process for selecting players will be announced at a later date.

The fifth season of the MASL kicks off this December. For the latest news and information about the MASL, check out MASLSoccer.com or follow the league on twitter (@MASLArena), Facebook (MASLSoccer) and Instagram (@maslsoccer).
