MASL STILL MONITORING RETURN TO PLAY SCENARIOS

(June 3, 2020) - The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) has announced it is no longer considering the playoff plan published on May 21, 2020. The league, after much consideration and effort to plan a safe event involving all playoff eligible teams, found the difficult logistics and potential risk outweighed any potential positive outcomes. This decision was made after further communication with teams and players.

“After consideration of health and safety standards and the logistics required, it was determined that proceeding forward was not in the best interest of the MASL,” Commissioner Joshua Schaub said.

While the proposed playoff plan previously published is no longer being considered, the league is still monitoring return-to-play opportunities for the 2019-2020 playoffs and potentially new competitions ahead of the 2020-2021 season.
