MASL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – WEEK SIX

KANSAS CITY (Dec 8, 2016) – The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today that Kansas City Comets goalkeeper Stephen Paterson was named the Player of the Week for Week Six of the 2016-2017 regular season. This is Paterson’s second Player of the Week award this season.

Last Saturday, Paterson and the Comets hosted the previously unbeaten Chicago Mustangs. While his teammates were doing their part, scoring six goals on the night, Paterson took control of his goal. Facing 19 shots, he managed to save all 19.

The second year goalkeeper is currently second in the league in Goals Against Average (3.63) and Save Percentage (.760). He also holds the unique distinction of leading all MASL goalkeepers in goals scored and shutout wins.

Paterson and the Comets have two games this weekend, first traveling to Cedar Rapids, IA to face their division rival Rampage. Then the team returns to Kansas City to host the defending champion Baltimore Blast on Sunday.

Both games, along with every other MASL game this season, can be seen on the league’s new YouTube channel, MASLtv.
